Guitar Setups – Getting the Most Out of Your Instrument
A guitar setup is a thorough process performed by a skilled technician to optimize sound and playability of the guitar. The two main elements of a guitar setup are adjusting the action and intonation. Action refers to the distance between the strings and the fingerboard, which determines how easy the instrument is to play. Intonation refers to setting the length of the string from saddle to nut and determines whether each fret plays in tune.
