Mint Music Yonge & Dundas

This course is designed for individuals of all ages who have studied the classical guitar for some time outside of the school, or earlier in life, and would like to continue developing on the instrument within a group setting, in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The course will include more advanced techniques, greater attention to individual development, and more complex material. The performing element will be an important feature of the course, which will gradually adopt a masterclass style. Students will also have the opportunity to play in duos and quartets throughout the course.

The course will vary greatly depending on the level of the students in the course. The first class, which will act as a prerequisite to the regular 10-week course, will consist of an assessment. The development of the lesson plan will take place after the first class, once the level of the participants has been established.

Materials required:

-Nylon-string Classical Guitar
-Footstool, ergoplay, or similar device for holding the instrument (not a strap)
-Folder/binder for holding handouts
-Tuner (clip-on – not an app)
-Metronome (can be an app)
