Course overview:
This intermediate guitar course is designed to help any guitarist who wants to improve their soloing, fingerpicking and strumming technique. The course promotes a self-sufficient approach to learning to make sure you are well equipped to explore any aspect of playing that interests you.
Topics:
Caged System, Horizontal System, Alternate Picking, Sweep/Economy Picking, Major and Minor Pentatonic Scales, Patterns, Legato, Bend, Skills and tips for jamming with other guitars and working with a band, Pre-Recorded play along tracks are also used in-class to aid in your learning.
Requirements:
Able to strum basic pop/rock in a rhythmic way. Able to read tab and chord notation. Able to play and change basic major and minor chords in time at various tempos. Able to execute alternate picking.

André Valério’s Biography
Brazilian multi-instrumentalist André Valério is in high demand as a guitarist, composer and arranger. Mr. Valerio’s versatility has taken him around the world to perform in important music festivals and venues in Canada, the Netherlands, Mexico and Brazil. His interest in music began at a very young age after listening to Brazil’s most enduring musical genres, Bossa Nova. Inspired to compose and arrange since as a teenager, André took a strong interest for classical music and jazz among other styles, passion that lead him to learn his six instruments: acoustic guitar, piano, mandolin, cavaquinho, bass, and electric guitar.

Payments can also be made in person at the Toronto Guitar School’s Yonge and Dundas location (116 Bond Street) by appointment only. Cheque, VISA, debit or cash are the accepted methods of payment at this location.
Payment must be received 24 hours prior to the start of the class to receive the discounted price otherwise the regular course rate of $140 applies. If you would like to join the class as a drop-in student the fee is $20 per class. Drop-ins will not be allowed past the 3rd class.
