AUDITION SCHEDULE
11:30am – Orientation and Private Audition with a Toronto Guitar School Teacher
12:00pm – Play with Different Bands and Socialize with Other Participants
1:00pm – Band Placements Announced and Questions Answered

All Bands that are current participating in the band program have the opportunity to perform at Toronto’s Premiere live music venue The Jazz Bistro at the end of every term. Even if you are not in a band and want join us for our next showcase which will be in March you can email the school at admin@mintmusic.ca to reserve your tickets.
IN-PERSON AUDITION
Please email or phone the school office (admin@mintmusic.ca / 416-707-1077) prior to attending and tell us what instrument you play and what musical experience you have so we can place you in an appropriate band that matches your musical interests and skill level on the day of the your in-person band audition.
Social distancing and PPE measures will be in place and as this audition occurs indoors at the Toronto Guitar school’s Yonge and Dundas Location(116 Bond Street) a face mask must be worn upon entering the building.
ONLINE AUDITIONS
Please email us to book your online audition with a Toronto Guitar School Instructor no later than Friday, March 25th at 5 PM.
All instruments (Vocals, Piano/Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Ukulele, Woodwind and Brass Instruments etc.) are welcome! We have bands for every level and age from teens to adults.
We will be aiming to start up new additional bands (Rock, Metal, Pop, Indie Rock, R&B/Funk, Jazz, Indian Fusion, Folk & Country) that rehearse during the week & weekend and fill a few spots in our Rock Bands, Teen Band, Jazz Band and Funk Band that rehearse weekly.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During your audition, a Toronto Guitar School instructor will interview you about your past experience, playing ability, musical interests and hear you play. After the audition session, each participant will be put into groups to get ready for band rehearsals!

HOW IT WORKS
Bring your instrument to the audition so you can meet and jam with others. We will provide all the necessary amps and sound equipment you will need for the audition. A drum set, piano and/or keyboard, guitar amps and a PA will be available for those that need it. You’ll also get a chance to tour our studios and have all your questions answered.
Each group will be supervised by a Toronto Guitar School instructor who will assist with the running or organization of the rehearsals. Members get to select the pieces they want to learn and determine the stylistic and artistic direction of the group.

Every effort is made to put everyone in a band following the audition. Weekly rehearsals are a minimum 1 hour in length and range in cost from $20-$50 per session depending on the size of the group, the number of instructors involved and length of the rehearsal
