The Toronto Guitar School offers a variety of music courses to provide our students who already take individual lessons at the school with the opportunity to further develop their musical experience and skills. These courses are also open to those who may study at other institutions or who are entirely new to the Toronto Guitar School and don’t yet have a private music instructor.
There are some, due to financial constraints, who may opt to take music classes such as our beginner guitar class as their primary method of learning an instrument. If this is the case, please keep in mind that although every effort is taken to ensure that our music classes are taught at the highest standard possible, a classroom setting cannot compare to a private one on one music lesson as the instructor’s attention in a class is spread out over many people. If, after completing your class, you have made serious progress in your musical studies, we strongly recommend that you transition to individual lessons to ensure you can build on the progress you have made in your music course. We have nearly 40 private music instructors specializing in every major musical instrument and music skill.
Our music courses prioritize your experience and learning needs as a student. This is why we limit our class sizes to 7 students, allowing us to deliver a higher quality of musical education you won’t receive anywhere else. After teaching thousands of courses, we have found that a low student to teacher ratio enables each student to get the most out of their educational experience and meet their learning goals while creating connections in an intimate and supportive environment.
Most of our music courses range in cost based on the number of instructors, the length of the class and the number of students in each class. Each music class is generally 1 hour in length and continues on a weekly basis for 10 weeks or more. If you are a full-time Toronto Guitar School student taking private individual lessons at our school, you will qualify for a special discount on most music courses.
We will be announcing our Summer/Fall Music Class timetable shortly. In the meantime, below is a short list of the type of courses that we will be offering. If you are interested in attending any of these classes please email the school office at admin@mintmusic.ca and we can provide more details along with approximate times the courses might begin if it is not yet up on the website.
Although our RockBand and Ensemble could be considered a type of Music Course this program has its own page and all the information on how it works and what it costs can be found here.
