This Online Workshop and Clinic is specially designed for anyone interested in learning the saxophone, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet or flugelhorn, seasoned brass/woodwind players and music teachers curious about how to teach woodwinds/brass.

Mint Music Instructors Paul Carter (Woodwind Doubler) and Klaus Anselm (Trumpet and Flugelhorn) will start the seminar by introducing each instrument, providing a brief history of its evolution and give demonstrations on what makes each of them unique (dynamics, range, how they are made, what gives them their sound, etc…) and why they are fun to play.

Drawing on their extensive teaching and musical experience Paul and Klaus will show attendees that there’s simply nothing that should hold anyone back from playing any woodwind or brass instrument regardless of age or prior musical experience. They will explain the differences between instruments in embouchure, hand position, posture and breathing. For music teachers, a variety of teaching methods, approaches and solutions to common teaching challenges specific to woodwinds will be covered.

At the end of the online presentation, Paul and Klaus will open the workshop to any questions the audience might have about woodwinds, brass instruments, lessons and music in general. This masterclass will end with an overview of what individual lessons, ensemble and band options exist at Mint Music.

Please join us for this special masterclass guaranteed to inspire and enlighten potential students, musicians and music teachers alike with a fresh and innovative approach to learning, playing and teaching woodwinds and brass instruments.
