Looking to meet other guitarists and have fun playing popular songs in a friendly & supportive environment? The Toronto Guitar Jam welcomes all levels of guitarists including beginners!

The Toronto Guitar Jam is a regular monthly guitar jam series for Toronto Guitarists that runs on a weekday from 7:30-9:30 PM at the Toronto Guitar School. The evening generally consists of 45 min or 1 hour workshop, a one-hour guitar jam and ample time to socialize and visit with other guitarists at the start and end of the program.
For the Jam portion of the evening participants are split up into groups according to skill level and stylistic interest. Toronto Guitar School Instructors and volunteers will be on-hand to lead and assist with the jam, answering any questions, providing sheet music to participants, helping organize the group jam/practice sessions.
PROGRAM:
7:15 PM – Registration and Guitar Social
7:30 PM – Workshop – TBA

This interactive and participatory workshop is open to all levels. Participants will be split into groups according to their skill level to make it easier for everyone to get the most out of this workshop and participate at a level they are comfortable with. Electric guitars and small amps are welcome however please be mindful to keep your amp at the volume of an acoustic guitar.
8:15 PM – Guitar Jam

Open to all Toronto Guitar Jam participants. An open mind and willingness to have fun is mandatory. :o)
9:15 PM – Guitar Social

Open to all Toronto Guitar Jam participants.
9:30 PM – End of Toronto Guitar Jam and Social

* to receive a gift certificate for a free guitar class you must both prepay ($10 in advance, $15 on the day) and attend the Group Guitar Jam. Gift certificates and other prizes will be awarded at the jam.

A good selection of guitars will also be available for rent or purchase. Please email the school ahead of time so we can have your guitar set aside and ready for you when you arrive for the jam.

KC ROBERTS

KC is an established singer/songwriter in Toronto, having written and recorded 100+ original songs in his career thus far. Since 2007, he has been the leader/singer/guitar player of an 8 piece band called KC Roberts & The Live Revolution (KCLR). KCLR has released 5 full length records, played festivals and shows all over Canada and the U.S, Sold over 3,000 CD’s in Japan, acquired hundreds of thousands of youtube views on their channel, and have a large and loyal fan base across the country. A large portion of KCLR’s fans are musicians, who enjoy the bands writing, arrangements and musicianship. The band unique approach, as well as KC’s writing and arranging, inspire many of the young and older musicians to pursue their instruments and playing in deeper ways. KC is the principal songwriter and musical director of the band, having written most of the horn lines, bass lines, grooves, melodies and chordal harmony and all the lyrics and guitar parts in the band’s catalogue. They just recently finished a 20 day west coast tour starting in Edmonton and ending in L.A. KC’s music is regularly played on CBC radio.

ANDRE VALERIO

Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Andre Valerio is in high demand as a guitarist, composer and arranger. Andre’s versatility has taken him around the world to perform in important music festivals and venues in Canada, the Netherlands, Mexico and Brazil. His interest in music began at a very young age after listening to Brazil’s most enduring musical genres, Bossa Nova. Inspired to compose and arrange since he was a teenager, for many years Andre studied classical guitar, jazz and latin music among other styles. His deep passion for music led him to learn six instruments: acoustic guitar, piano, mandolin, cavaquinho, bass and electric guitar.
GLEN ALAN

Glen Alan is an professional musician, composer, recording producer and a passionate music educator. Glen holds his Grade 8 Piano Certificate (First Class Honours) from the Royal Conservatory of Music and received his Vocal Performance Diploma from Humber College (First Class Honours). Glen has been playing, recording and teaching music professionally for over 20 years.

A committed humanitarian and environmentalist, Glen’s original material spans a wide range of styles and influences exploring the gamut of human emotion from separation, loss, love, humour, hope and inspiration. Glen Alan’s ‘singing and songwriting style has been compared to Steely Dan, Ben Folds, Queen, the Beatles and Brian Wilson.

Glen Alan has worked with internationally recognized artists such as Keifer Sutherland, David (Soulfingers) Williamson, Jackie Richardson, Don Ross, Paul Delong, Brian Dickinson, Wendell Fergerson, Dylan Bell & Suba Sankaran, Christopher Plock, Natalie McMaster, Mark Dubois, Tim Bovaconti, Lenny Soloman, Steve T Hunter and many others…

PAYMENT

Payments can also be made online by credit card or through email transfer using the Guitar School official email address info@torontoguitarschool.com (paypal not currently accepted). If you would like to pay in person at the Toronto Guitar School’s Yonge and Dundas location (116 Bond Street) you can do so by appointment only. Cheque, VISA, debit or cash are the accepted methods of payment at this location.
