Adam Teixeira is a drummer, producer, songwriter and educator from Toronto, Canada. His early career started while studying Jazz performance at Humber College, performing regularly in the Toronto music scene with original bands. In 2008 Adam was accepted to participate in the International Jazz Workshop at The Banff Centre for the Arts where he studied and performed with renowned musicians from around the world. He later returned to the Banff Centre in 2013 to fulfil a self-directed music residency where he focused on expanding his artistic concepts and original compositions. Adam has been awarded Professional Development Grants from the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts and Help Musicians UK. In 2013 Adam moved from Toronto to London UK where he was based until 2023 and has toured extensively in UK, Europe, India and South Korea.
Adam has performed with the likes of Greg Osby, Pat Labarbera , Tony Malaby, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Alina Bzhezhinska Hip Harp, Vitor Pereira, Ingrid Jensen, Tony Kofi, Gregor Riddell, Mike Maher, Monika Lidke, Monsoon, Aimée Allen, Julian Costello, Alex Stuart, Jangeun Bae and more. While maintaining an active career as a side musician Adam continues to lead original bands including Group Field Project and co-leads the group BirdWorld. He has released two recordings as a leader: TEXTURE and Group Field.
