For 15+ years, Alex has been sharing his love for music to audiences as a solo performer, playing in several bands, as a songwriter, and as a hired bass player. In 2018, he began his studies at Humber College majoring in bass, receiving training in a variety of subjects giving him a broad skillset. As well as bass, Alex plays guitar, piano, and sings. An inquisitive nature has led him down a path of exploring music in a live setting, as well as recording, having been a part of 7 records in a variety of capacities from session bass player to producer/engineer.
Enjoying just about any genre, from rock, to pop, jazz, country, and indie, Alex has a wide breadth of experience to bring to students at any stage in their musical journey. Exploring ear training, vocabulary of an instrument, the language of different genres, and good technique allow for students to develop what feels good to them. Alex’s aims to guide students to build up these tools with the end goal of nurturing musical intuition. His curiosity allows him to have an open mind while listening to his students, showing compassion as well as leadership.
