Rhiannon CarterViolin Instructor

    Rhiannon Carter has been playing the violin since the age of four, studying under various artists such as Annalee Patipatanakoon, David Gilliam, Brandon Chui and Young-dai Park. Beginning her orchestral journey in 2006, Rhiannon has played in various orchestras which include the Mississauga Youth Orchestra (2006-2013), the Brampton Symphony Youth Orchestra (2008-2013), the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (2013-2017), the University of British Columbia Symphony (2017-2018) and currently the Wilfrid Laurier Symphony Orchestra.

     

    Rhiannon was awarded with the 2013 Musician of the Year Award from the Mississauga Youth Orchestra and various MVP awards in various ensembles. She is very active within her community, playing in various outreach concerts with Largo Fasolka Quartet, which was formed during her studies at Wilfrid Laurier University.

     

    In addition, Rhiannon has attended Le Domaine Forget International Music Academy, Saint-Irénée, QC (2014-2016) and performed at the Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival in St. John’s Newfoundland (2018).

     

    Outside of music, Rhiannon participated in the development and implementation of mentor programs to grade 9 students during her secondary education, running a weekend camp and preparing these students for the year they had ahead. Currently Rhiannon is continuing her studies in Violin Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University and developing her formidable skills as a chamber musician.
