Brian Abbott has been teaching music for over 20 years and has taught people of all ages and ability levels while preparing students for recitals performances and post secondary music programs. He has a long history of teaching guitar, bass, and beginner piano and is adept atmaking musical concepts clear for his students while at the same time making lessons fun and accessible. Brian teaching philosophy centres around his belief in splitting up lessons between the technical skills students need while also teaching them the music they are excited about.
He has a masters in Music Composition from York University and completed his undergrad at the Berkee College of Music in Boston.
As a performer he has toured the U.S. and Canada performing in rock bands, and jazz/improv groups for several years. As a professional composer, his works have been performed in Canada, the U.S., Portugal and Budapest.
